About the Tour

Jim Corbett Women-only trip has been designed especially for those who seek a quick close-to-nature trip without undertaking an arduous journey. Along with the luxury of nature, we have arranged for a luxury stay as well. Come on ladies, give yourselves that much-needed relaxation and spend sometime with the like-minded and fun-loving females.

Yet, there’s so much more waiting to be discovered in the diverse geography of the region. Hills, riverine belts, grasslands, and large lakes are scattered across this rich land located in the Nainital district of the state of Uttarakhand.

Heralding the title of being India’s oldest National Park, the Jim Corbett National Park is home to over 400 species of flora and over 550 species of fauna. This region has exquisite biodiversity that is every wildlife enthusiast’s dream. It is the first place where Project Tiger was launched in 1973, which was an ambitious Tiger Conservation project started by our erstwhile Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. Spread over 520 square kilometers, the Corbett Tiger Reserve is among the few tiger reserves in India that allow overnight stays inside of the National Park itself. So, you can expect some of the best wildlife sightings and safaris while visiting the Jim Corbett National Park.

Did you know how Jim Corbett National Park got its name?

Originally established in 1907 by the British, as the Hailey National Park, this park was a game reserve, where people could go hunt tigers. But after independence, it was renamed the Ramganga National Park. The year 1955 saw the passing of the hunter and naturalist Jim Corbett, who had played a leading role in the establishment of the park. Hence, a year later in 1956, the park was renamed once again for the final time to the Jim Corbett National Park in memory of Jim Corbett himself.

Apart from the exploration of the natural flora and fauna, there are ancient temples and scenic waterfalls to visit in and around the National Park. In nutshell, Jim Corbett provides a much-needed relaxing getaway in the lap of nature far away from the noise of the metro cities. 1. Corbett Wildlife Safari

The Jim Corbett Wildlife Safari is one of the best in the country and is known for its great animal sightings and sceneries. The sounds of numerous birds fill the bone-chilling cold air of the early as you trundle along in the Jeep Safari. You might see a chital deer searching for an early grazing spot or a lesser fish eagle diving in to catch its prey in the ripple of the Kosi river and if you are really lucky you might get to see the elegant Bengal tiger strutting about in all its glory!

2. Kosi River

Kosi river indeed adds a beautiful touch to the forest landscape of Jim Corbett, and also gives visitors an opportunity to spend some silent moments by its banks. Creating the eastern border, the Kosi river flows alongside the Jim Corbett National Park. It stretches from Mohan till Ramnagar and is a significant water resource for the wild animals and people alike living in the region. It can be heard rippling throughout the eastern edge of the national park, is a fishing enthusiast’s destination harbouring the Golden Mahseer, a rare fish found only in select waters.

3. Dhangarhi Museum

Displays of hunters triumphant over their hunts are spread over the walls of this museum that sheds light on the life and journey of Jim Corbett, the well-known tiger conservationist after whom the National Park is named. Located just adjacent to the Dhangarhi Gate of Corbett, this museum is said to have existed on the grounds of the National Park since the man-eating tigers have been around and is a Heritage lover’s absolute muse.

4. Girija Devi Temple

Built on a rock in the middle of the river Kosi, the Girija Devi Temple is a noted Devi temple located in the Garjiya village on the outskirts of the Corbett National Park, near Ramnagar, Uttarakhand. This sacred Shakti shrine of the presiding deity Garjiya Devi is visited by thousands of devotees on the ‘Kartik Poornima’, a holy day for Hindus celebrated on the 15th lunar day of the month of Kartik on the Hindu Calendar (from November to December).

5. Suspension Bridge

This 150-year old suspension bridge stretching across the Kosi river is another favorite of tourists who visit the Jim Corbett National Park, especially the ones with an adventurous streak. We can also leisurely enjoy the breathtaking view around this bridge as you listen to the sounds of the wild with the river gushing under you. You also get to make a few pretty pictures with this vintage bridge.

6. Hanuman Dham

Peace. Tranquility. The sounds of birds chirping as you hear the morning prayers and the gongs of the bells. A feeling of calm permeates you as you enter the Hanuman Dham located about 7.5 km away from Ramnagar. The arched gateway to the temple depicting two fishes on the gateway which symbolize fortune and prosperity is an architectural marvel. Inside there is a sitting area to take a rest or wait, meditation halls for prayer, a center for the disabled, and the main attraction – a majestic temple of Shri Hanuman.

Meet the entire group and group leader for introduction and orientation in Delhi. We will board a vehicle (Innova/ Force Traveler) exclusively booked for our group for our journey to Jim Corbett.

We will pick up the participants at 6:45 AM from Mandi House Metro Station. Please check the Important section/contact for more pick-up points which might be decided over the course of time.

Safari bookings open up only a few days prior to the date and they also sell out very fast. Please note that Transforming Travels try their best but still we cannot guarantee the exact zone of the safari we would get. Hence, please be open to that.
Please note that neither assign any seats in the vehicle nor do we take any special requests for that. Be it a first seat, window seat, or the last seat, we expect participants to be flexible with their choice considering the fact that it’s a group tour and support each other.
Transforming Travels reserves the right to modify the place of stay or the itinerary without any prior notice.
There will be a temperature and Aarogya Setu app status check, of every participant before boarding the vehicle to the destination.
Every participant should be wearing a mask at all public places. Also, expected to carry a backup mask in case you lose one.
Every participant should carry a personal sanitizer and keep sanitizing their hands at regular intervals.
At the backend, we would also be conducting the temperature check of our driver, group leader, and guide.
Our accommodation partners sanitize the rooms and attached bathrooms before check-in. Common areas are sanitized on regular basis.
Temperature check is conducted for housekeeping and kitchen staff members every day by our accommodation partners.
If you have received your second vaccine dose at least 14 days before the trip commencement dates, then an RT PCR test is not required. Else, a negative RT PCR test report (conducted within 72 hours of entry) is required for all state travelers.
